What's with the periwinkle ribbon?

You may have noticed that the Silverfox logo has a new edition. Two years ago, Dr. Mike was diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer. We know Dr. Mike as a kind staff member and our witty team jokester. He is also John's (the founder of Silverfox) very best friend. Dr. Mike is fighting the toughest battle of his life against this uncommon cancer, and we want to help in any and every way we can.

We're starting with a tiny, periwinkle ribbon.

Periwinkle is the official color to raise awareness for esophageal cancer. This type of cancer effects the tube that connects the throat to the stomach, allowing food to pass. Esophageal cancer occurs when the tissue that lines the esophagus becomes malignant. It's serious, and especially at stage 4, life threatening. But we can help Dr. Mike, and we can raise awareness because esophageal cancer can be detected early and can be cured. We just need your help to spread the word!

We've created a Dr. Mike Fund to help raise funds for his treatments and awareness for esophageal cancer.

Since Dr. Mike’s diagnosis, he has been in the fight of his life, going through testing, chemotherapy treatments, radiation and more. And he has fought each and every day. His wife Jeanine and their two children, Jaclyn and Dylan, have been at his side to fight with him.
And I’m fighting too.
Because that’s what best friends do.

We're starting with a tiny, periwinkle ribbon. But we're doing so much more.

Thank you for all of your help.
