We have no doubt that Stephanie and Aaron are meant to be, and we guarantee you'll feel the same way once you read their love story!
SF: How did you meet?:
Stephanie: "We are both active duty military, Aaron is a Marine and Stephanie is in the Navy. In September of 2012 we were both slated to be stationed in Okinawa, Japan and caught a glimpse of each other on the plane ride over to our new duty station. We officially met at the Softbank cell phone store the day after we landed and then we met again at the newcomers brief that is required to be attended by everyone who gets stationed there. We exchanged numbers at the newcomers brief and were inseparable ever since."
SF: Tell us about the proposal!
Stephanie: "We came back to the states for Christmas of 2013 and that's when Stephanie first met Aaron's family in California. The proposal took place overlooking LA at night at the Griffith Observatory. Aaron found a place sort of out of the way of all the tourists and got down on one knee. My brother, Tim was there to take pictures from a far. It was beautiful!"
Stephanie shared with us that the pair spent a great deal of their relationship traveling. While stationed in Japan they "went to Taiwan, Korea, mainland Japan (Nagano, Tokyo, Hiroshima, Miyajima, Kyoto, Osaka), Thailand (was by far our favorite), and Ishigaki Island." These experiences led them to add some Japanese inspired decor to their wedding reception. Stephanie told us, "Our cake topper design was inspired after the floating tori gate which is iconic of Miyajima, which is a quick ferry ride from Hiroshima. Our cake was designed after the fact that we met in Japan and it incorporates a pagoda and cherry blossoms."
We're so grateful that, being the world travelers they are, Stephanie and Aaron decided to have their wedding here on Long Island at Westbury Manor. Here's the lowdown on all the vendors that made Stephanie and Aaron's special day a day to remember.:
