Besides being the biggest Disney lovers we know and owning one of the cutest dogs we've ever seen, Kelly and Joseph have a truly magical love story. Read the tale of how they met, how he asked, and get the inside details on their big day from the bride herself!
How we met...
"Joe and I met through mutual friends from high school when we were 21, although, we’ve probably crossed paths many times when we were younger considering how many mutual friends we have. We even made our communions at the same time in the same church. Joe and I officially met in March of 2010 at the Nutty Irishman in Farmingdale when we were introduced by mutual friends from high school. We started off as friends, (I thought he was kind of nerdy and tried to set him up with a friend) and we spent almost every day together for about 6 months."
"In August of 2010, Joe asked me out on our first date and we slowly became more and more attached to each other. Joe waited 6 months before telling me he loved me– we were in Disney World on the bridge to Cinderella’s castle and after that moment, I realized why it hadn’t worked out with anyone else. I knew from early on that Joe would be the one I would marry; I couldn’t imagine my life without him in it."
"Joe and I went on our first vacation to Disney World in 2011. During our trip, we talked a lot about how awesome it would be to get engaged there, but I never imagined it would happen. In July of 2013, Joe and I were back in Disney for vacation. On July 21st, he surprised me with dinner at Cinderella’s table inside her castle. I was thrilled, but was committed to the idea that Joe was NOT proposing, because he had told me so. He insisted that he didn’t want me to be disappointed when it didn’t happen. After dinner, Joe went to the bathroom, and after he returned, a glass slipper on a plate of rose petals was delivered to the table. Inscribed on the slipper were the words “will you marry me.” People were cheering and a photographer was snapping pictures. It was truly magical."
The Big Day...
On May 30, 2015, the day Kelly and Joseph tirelessly planned for and eagerly awaited had arrived! They would finally be able to call themselves husband and wife and begin living their "happily ever after," which was the very fitting choice for their wedding theme! After "I do's" and some photos by the water, the happy newlyweds invited their family and friends to the beautiful Larkfield Manor for an enchanting reception. Wedding guests sat among budding centerpieces by Jack & Rose and danced the night away to the tunes of Body Rock Entertainment. Kelly was a stunning sight in her Maggie Sottero ruffled mermaid gown. As the night came to an end, the sweet pair sliced into their almost too-pretty-to-eat cake by Dortoni Bakery. And rather than worrying about their ride home turning into a pumpkin at the stroke of midnight, Kelly and Joseph rode away in a Rolls Royce courtesy of All Star Limo- a true happy ending.
