On Tuesday, December 29th, 2015, Silverfox groom-to-be Garrett FitzGerald was critically injured in a head-on collision while on official duty as secret service agent.
An oncoming vehicle crossed the lane divide, plowing into the car Garrett was riding in. Garrett sustained major injuries to his spinal cord, and he currently has no feeling or movement from the upper chest down.
Garrett and his fiancee, Joan, recently moved to Boston in September 2015. Prior to the accident, they were busy planning their beautiful wedding here on Long Island. “The wedding was to be March 4,” said Joan’s mother in an interview with the Boston Herald. “Now we are going to march forth, however we can.”
From what we already know about Garrett, he possesses the determination to excel in his recovery and return to working toward his dream to serve the nation.
The hashtag #GarrettStrong has been created to help spread the word in addition to a GoFundMe page created by Garrett's best friend to help with accident related costs. Please find it in your heart to help out in any way that you can. You can donate by clicking here:
