SF: How did you meet?:

A&M: We met in college and Mike always jokes (along with his friends) that we would have met sooner if I would have gone to his famous apartment named "The Love Below" but I just wasn't in to it. I mean, it sounds a little sketchy...doesn't it? We REALLY met though at a good friends birthday party and a friendship sparked first. We got really close through Greek Life in college where my sorority and is fraternity were paired up for homecoming week so Mike and I were spending a lot of time together. Then finals week rolled around and Mike was totally crushing on me by then (awww) and I was completely oblivious. He invited me and some of my closest friends to a big New Years Eve party that same year and when the ball dropped at midnight...he kissed me on the cheek. It wasn't until later in the night where we had out first kiss and spent the entire night chatting and dancing and the rest is simply history!

SF: Tell us about the proposal!:

A&M: I had been vacationing at the Jersey Shore, specifically Wildwood Crest, almost every year since I was a toddler. It's one of my favorite places in the world since I love the beach and the ocean so much and my family and I just have so many memories there. Even though Mike and I had been dating for 5 and 1/2 years at that time, it took that long to get him invited on that trip down the shore! Boy, was it one to remember! Mike knew I loved the beach so much that earlier in the day he asked me if I wanted right before we headed out for dinner with all of my family take a walk down to the beach because it happened to be out 5 and 1/2 year anniversary that day so he wanted to take a moment to reflect and take a few pictures. I had a little bit of a feeling that if anything was going to happen that maybe it would happen that day since it was kind of like an anniversary since we were celebrating a half year mark. Mike is really good at keeping it cool though so I didn't want to get my hopes up.
As soon as we got down to the beach, we took a few photos and Mike started to ask me if I could describe the last 5 and 1/2 years in 3 words what would they be. Forgive me as the words are totally slipping my mind now but I know I said something cute! Then, there was a group of about 15-20 random people still on the beach looking over at us and starting to cheer us on and nothing had happened! Mike started to get a little nervous and finally said something along the lines of "Ok, they're stealing my thunder" and got down on his knee.
To my surprise, he proposed on the beach with just the 2 of us there and it could not have been more perfect. I screamed and ugly cried so much but I couldn't have dreamed of a better proposal. After I said yes, that random group of people called us over and were the first to congratulate us on our engagement. We then went back to our condo where the rest of my family was and the only people who knew the proposal was happening was my mom and dad. As soon as I screamed "UH HELLO!?" into the condo, my mom jumped out of no where with the most excited look on her face. She started to cry, my sister started to cry, then I started to cry. Then I had to go next door and tell my grandma and aunt, uncle and cousins. As soon as I open their door, the first person I see is my grandma and I just hold my newly blinged out hand up and she starts screaming...IN FRENCH! Lord only knows what she was saying but it was nothing short of amazing. Then the rest of the crew came over to see what the commotion was about and started crying happy tears. It was a great day and night and I'll never forget it. He did an awesome job!!
